How close is Colorado State University to major ski resorts?

I want to go to Colorado state university and i was wondering how close it is to some major ski resorts. What are the closest ski resorts? Also, if you attend or have attended CSU, how often do kids drive out to got skiing?

CSU is in Fort Collins, as I’m sure you know, and Fort Collins is about 2 hours from your big-name ski slopes (Copper Mountain, Snowmass, Vail, etc.). Fortunately for the would-be Ram, it’s nothing but Interstate driving all the way there…plus, I’ve traveled all over the country, and the stretch of I-70 you have to go on in order to get out to those resorts is probably the most beautiful section of highway in the U.S.A. So that’s not bad–you can roast some weed and bump some tunes with your crew on the way there, then stop @ BeauJo’s for pizza on the way back…it makes for a beautiful experience.
My best friend went to CSU, and he skied every other week w/ me and whoever we could wrangle into the car with us…We did that for like two seasons, it was great.
It depends on how fast you drive and what the road conditions are. 2-4 hours drive and every chance they get. Check a map for the closest ski resorts and get a season pass now while the price is low. Ask for a student pass. Ask about the college ski club.
I go to CSU!
It’s about 2 hours, which really isn’t bad. I go every weekend and once during the week, and there are two skiing clubs.
One club, the snowriders, has a bus, and for $15 they take you to the slopes. But they’re a bunch of drinkers and partiers, and who wants to pay 15 bucks?
the other club is the Outdoor club, it’s pretty informal and people go every weekend, there are also tons of backcountry skiers, since Rocky Mountain National Park is 30minutes away.
If you sign up for both you can send an email to all the members and ask for rides up to the mountains. Maybe you’ll end up going with me one day even!
