I agree with Deano. Thanksgiving is early for skiing anywhere in the US. I did luck out some years ago at Mt. Tremblant in Quebec the week AFTER Thanksgiving. But even though it snowed every day I was there, they still didn’t have the back side open.
Another issue with skiing that early, even if there is snow, is that many areas are not fully staffed that early. So even if there is enough snow to open the entire area, they’re not staffed to run all lifts and lodges yet.
Best bets in US are Summit County, CO areas and Utah. Other than that, try Canada. Eastern British Columbia or western Alberta.
There really is no skiing during thanksgiving except for on glaciers and even then the skiing is not that good, if you want some good powder wait until mid way through december and hit up places like jackson hole or if your willing to come up to Canada try Fernie B.C. or Whistler. Hope that this helps
Go ride the Bird!! Snowbird Utah gets up to 500 ” of snow a year and has virtually all year round skiing. November has great snow in the little cotton wood canyons of Snowbird Utah.
My understanding from friends is that Utah is the best of the best places to ski. I’ve only skii’d at Northstar at Lake Tahoe myself.
Vail, CO or Jackson Hole, WY
Thanksgiving? Not alot of places will have snow, and the ones that do will have very limited terrain open. Just the main runs leading to the base.
Look at Loveland or A-Basin, CO. They are pretty much always the first two to open, and they may have a decent base built up by then.
steamboat springs, co

No, don’t plan a big ski trip around Thanksgiving. It’s just too iffy.
Us locals (at least here in Utah) count our blessings if we are on snow by mid-November, and that is with minimal terrain.
Wait until December, or January for sure.
