Alta Utah

Alta Ski Resort is located in Utah on Wasatch Mountains just east of Salt Lake City (Winter Olympics 2002). Alta is one of the oldest ski resorts in America, opening it;s first lifts in 1939. Powder skiing, Snow Cats, Steamboat…?

Has anyone done the cat skiing at Steamboat called “Powder Cats”? Im looking at going somewhere with my dad over spring break and I really want to ski some powder. I wanted to do heli-skiing but that’s hella expensive. The closest I’ve done to powder skiing is Vazquez Cirque in Winter Park. Im about a level 8 skier and I ski on the east coast (NC and WV)

What’s powder skiing like compared to slush/ice/groomed on-piste stuff? Is it really hard on your legs?

Also, If anyone has done the powder cats, what was it like? Would you recommend it?

Aside from Jackson Hole and Whistler, can you suggest some other good places for snow cat skiing?
