Goodbye Snow Hello Orlando

Steamboat Springs Colorado, great skiing, nice town
-20 degrees at least once a week. I want out. I wanted out at least for a weekend or so. It’s super expensive to live here. It’s the skiing that keeps people here despite the crushing housing expense and the severe cold. I needed a warm, cheap getaway. Florida seems logical, wife likes it, kids like it, I like it. How to afford it? Didn’t know. Susan(wife) digs on the internet for a deal and she finds it at www.visitorlandoonline.org. It’s a website that generates leads and sells them to timeshare companies operating in Orlando. I had never been on a timeshare preview vacation before, but I had always heard the presentation was awful.
The offer is cheap though, all of us for 3 nights for $199 plus 2 adult tickets to any theme park we want. So off we go 6 hours in the air, Orlando here we come. Our accommodations are at Celebrity resort lake Buena Vista. Note there is a town in Colorado called Buena Vista that the locals actually pronounce “byuunee vista”. Lake Buena Vista is great, warm and right near Disney World to all of our delight. The condo is a one bedroom with a hide a bed for the girls. We got checked in by eight, grabbed dinner went back and hit the hay to get an early start on Disney World. Did I mention it was warm? Disney World is great something for everyone. The wife has a strange obsession with the Bear Country Jamboree though.
Monsters Inc. was the big hit with the girls. Nothing like the laughter of a 5 and 7 year olds.
The dreaded tour? Not too bad. we didn’t buy a week. Couldn’t have even if we wanted to. I guess the real point here is that if you are willing to listen to two hours of spiel you can get a cheap vacation and escape freezing weather.Orlando vacation
