Staying Informed with Draper

In 1849, just a short time after settlers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley, Draper Utah was established. Most other cities during that time were settled as farming communities and Draper was no exception. It has become a popular city and has grown to a population of 38,556. Just over 6,000 people rent and there are close to 6,578 houses in Draper. When visiting Draper, the large homes on the mountain will hint that the city has one of the higher incomes in Utah at $84,270. Convenient location places Draper south of Salt Lake and north of Provo. It is also only about 30 minutes away from the Salt Lake Airport.
Northern Utah’s climate is pretty similar from city to city. Average temperatures will settle in the mid nineties in July and the low forties in January. Snowfall averages 30 inches per year and rainfall averages 21 inches.
Draper is unique in that it has an excellent hang gliding location and therefore has the largest school for hang gliding in the United States. The mountains are also popular for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Four of Utah’s prime ski resorts are just 20 minutes away. To come closer as a community, several events are held such as: Trail Days where people can join several different races, Christmas in the Heart of Draper to welcome Santa Claus to the city, and the Draper Easter Egg Hunt. The largest celebration in the community is called Draper Days and provides family fun with all kinds of activities and entertainment.
Draper Real Estate has been effective at boosting home sales in the same way that a lot of other Utah Real Estate has. It appears that as long as sellers are willing to lower prices, more people will buy.
